American Riders Dominate Races in Nové Město, U23 Race won by Batten
The second racing day in Nové Město na Moravě saw another American victory. Haley Batten decided in the first of the six laps,
and after taking the bronze in the first World Cup race in Albstadt, she could celebrate her first great achievement. Ronja Eibl
of Germany came in second, losing about half a minute, the bronze went to Laura Stigger.
"It is my fourth time of racing on this track, and I can say that I love it. Everything fits me well, and I was enjoying the
race a lot today. I am overjoyed to have won in Nové Město!" the twenty-year-old winner and the teammate of Kateřina Nash said.
Unfortunately, Czech riders were not successful at all. Tereza Neumanová from the Česká spořitelna Accolade team rode
her very first race in the World Cup series and was very happy after crossing the line, finishing 22nd.
"I did not expect it at all, I started from the last position and only hoped not to be given a lap. I had ridden an XC race
only once this season, so I am really satisfied," the racer who combines MTB with road and track cycling said.
