Treat yourself to an adrenaline-filled cycling experience on narrow forest paths full of turns, roots, and steep descents. The region offers two trail areas where you can have a great time. The Vysočina Cycling Arena in Nové Město na Moravě is currently densely occupied and busy due to all the Mountain Bike World Cup rumor. Just about twenty kilometers away lies the calmer Vír Trails area.

Vír Trails, located in the village of Vír (also known for its dam on the Svratka River), offers not only beautiful nature full of hills and attractive views but also perfect routes suitable for more experienced riders. The area offers paths adapted for gravel bikes and XC category bikes, featuring classic natural trails as well as more challenging enduro descents.

You can enjoy a descent from the famous Klubačice rock viewpoint or a two-way natural trail with transfers along field paths leading to the ruins of Zubštejn Castle. More experienced cyclists can look forward to a steep descent from the Sokolí skála (Falcon Rock) viewpoint, after which the route is named the Falcon Trail. For variety, you can turn onto an enduro section in the middle part, which is challenging, so it's recommended to walk it first to see what you're getting into. Havl's Trail, named after the accommodating landowner, is suitable even for less skilled riders who can try a more difficult descent via a detour leading over a cleared rock.

This year's novelty is the third trail, which you'll find in the Končiny area on Bystřice nad Pernštejnem property in the hills before Vír. Participants of the Blinduro bike race, which started from the Továrna Vír area (which, by the way, offers complete facilities for cyclists and tourists), tested it in early April. The new trail offers not only fun and adrenaline but also attractive views of the Vír I water reservoir. Given that hills alternate with deep valleys practically everywhere in the Koruna Vysočiny region, and not all cyclists are in top condition, electric bikes can be useful here. And they are allowed everywhere on the Vír Trails routes.

The area around the Vír dam has also become popular with rock climbers in recent years - not only experienced ones but also beginners and recreational climbers. So if downhill cycling from steep hills isn't enough during your trip to Vír, you can also try three secured via ferrata routes on the Ice Wall with the Rock Viewpoint and on the Lake Wall. If you don't own the necessary basic equipment such as a helmet and harness, you can rent it on-site and also receive instruction on proper use.
